MITCHELL Thad Moore, 90, Mitchell, passed away at 7:41 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008, at StoneBridge Health Campus in Bedford.

Born August 7, 1918, in French Lick, he was the son of Raymond and Myrtle (Stout) Moore. He married Ruth M. Jolley November 19, 1940.

He retired from Bedford National Bank and was previously a salesman for Chase Chevrolet in Bedford. Thad graduated from Mitchell High School in 1936 and was a member of Mitchell Masonic Lodge F&AM No. 228.

A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars.

His parents and sister, Gretchen Cooper, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 11, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
