MITCHELL – William Arthur Conley, 81,passed away Monday, November 25, 2019, at Indiana University Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born November 27, 1937, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Everett and Mabel (Bowers) Conley.  He married Dorothy Alice Tarr July 4, 1958.

Bill retired from Carpenter Body Works and then established Conley’s Electric Service. He finished his career at Gallatin Steel in Kentucky.  Bill graduated from Mitchell High School in 1956 and was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as deacon, trustee, Sunday school teacher, song leader, and moderator of the Orleans Baptist Association.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

His parents; great grandson, Allen Jay Houchin; and siblings, Barbara Lindley, Howard Conley, Gail Witmer, Elmer Conley and Edgar Conley, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Reggie Clark and Brother David Conley officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m.  – 7:00 p.m.  Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
